For development, I almost always use Firefox. Their Firebug work far better in Firefox than Chrome. I hate to "Hate" on IE but I only use them to test cross browser compatibility for Webstore customization.

Check out this blog entry from Audaxium by Rob MacEwen. I personally like using Chrome and Firefox for development purposes. Chrome definitely seem to be more responsive compared to IE and Firefox.
